Peter Miles a.k.a. Peter Kanyike Miles was born on 29th September 1980 in
Entebbe, Uganda to a musical family.
He attended,Lake vic primary school,Budo Junior Primary School,Bugema
secondary School,St. Lawrence Senior Secondary school for his ‘O’ Levels
and Kabojja Senior Secondary school for his ‘A’ Levels where he was the
Entertainment prefect.
He has a bachelor’s degree in tourism and Airways Travel from Makerere
University.

Peter Miles is inspired by his own brother Coco Banton a.k.a. John Miles. He
gets inspiration from other reggae artists like Bob Marley,Capleton, Sizzla
Kalonji,Buju Banton,Assasin and the list goes on.

His career as an african dancehall artist started in 1994 when he was just
14 years old. Over the years he has worked with artists like ,2face from
Nigeria,Swahili nation,Soul singer Jaqee based in sweden,East african
bashement crew,Mr googz from Kenya,Gentle based in the U.K,Kristo Fabulous.
Peter Miles now records in his home based "ROAD BLOCK"studio in
Entebbe(Uganda),and the Ogopa DJs based in Nairobi(Kenya). He writes his own
music and produces. His music is basically a dancehall style in a sense that
he blends real Ragga with a local African feel, which includes local
languages like Luganda, Swahili mixed with English,which he calls African
reggae dancehall.

Peter Miles at one point of his ascent performed with UK based Glamma Kid
(of the Sweetest Taboo remix fame with Shola Ama) at the Miss Uganda London
event at the Stratford Rex Arena in October 2001.
Back home, he has had the honour of curtain rising for big stars like Chaka
Demus & pliers and Buju Banton.
2003 Festive season saw him being one out of four local artists slated to
curtain raise for Shaggy during his Ugandan Tour.
2004 November saw him curtain raise for TOK a Jamaican Dancehall Ragga
group.
He has performed in various cities around Africa and Europe including
Nairobi, Mombassa,Dar-es-salaam,Berlin,London.......

2005 febuary 22nd MTV launched the first pan-African music channel 'MTV base
Africa'.Peter Miles is one of the artists who were selected to feature on
the channel right from the start and was selected to perform at the
chennel's launch in Uganda.In the same year his track"Owange" featured as
the title track on an international African reggae compilation by a German
based record company called Outhere records.

Miles hit a career apogee when he was nominated in two categories at the
prestigious KISIMA awards (2004) slated for 19th June at the carnival in
Nairobi, Kenya for Best male artist from Tanzania / Uganda and Best video
for ‘One Time’.
In the same year he was nominated at the Ugandan PAM awards for the best
Ragga Artist. Peter Miles and his sing mate Menshan have established as
Ragga dancehall kings in and around east Africa.

2006 has seen Peter Miles win the pearl of Africa music award in the
category of best ragga artist/group.

On the 7th June 2007,Peter Miles was the only artist from East and central
Africa selected to perform at the anti G8 summit concert code named the"P8
concert"in Rostock"Germany"alongside other big european bands like
U2,Bono,Youssou N'dour,Bob Geldof,Seed,and many more,his performance act was
one of the few that were selected to air on Germany's biggest TV station ARD
at prime time.

In the same season he performed with one of Jamaica's leading dancehall
sensations Assasin at the YAAM club in Berlin.

Peter Miles is currently signed to phone company Motorola as their brand
ambassador in Uganda.

He has a two in one album entitled ‘One Time’ and ‘Imagine’ for the
Local and International market respectively as well as videos to follow up.

He has also finished his latest album"Muwala" for the local market and"Love"
for the international market

with a combined video for both title tracks.
